Winter Storytime 2/4/19 and 2/5/19

Book read:
One Snowy Day by Diana Murray

Other book suggestions:
Winter is here by Kevin Henkes
Snowy Blowy Winter by Bob Raczka
Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson

Let's All Do a Little Clapping
(Tune:"We Wish You a Merry Christmas", modified from Storytime Katie)
Let's all do a little clapping,
Let's all do a little clapping,
Let's all do a little clapping,
and spread winter cheer!
Other actions can include stomping, jumping, twirling, etc.

Snowky Pokey (from Everything Preschool)
You put your right mitten in,
You take your right mitten out.
You put your right mitten in and you shake it all about.
You do the Snowky Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
Other verses can include boot, hat, whole self, etc.

Saw a snowflake (modified from Preschool Express, to the tune of "My Darling Clementine")
Saw a snowflake,
Saw a snowflake,
Saw a snowflake falling down.
It was floating,
It was twirling.
As it spun around and round.

Craft: We decorated a mitten template with torn yarn.

Literacy tip of the week: Label and describe things you see as you go about your day with your child. The more times they hear new words the more words will be in their vocabulary.
